Penn Treaty Park, located on the Delaware River, is a cornerstone in the Fishtown Community of Philadelphia. They host music every Wednesday in the summer, fireworks on major events and keep the park clean for everyone to enjoy; they’re constantly giving to the community. It’s our time to give back to the park that we love to walk to and enjoy the breeze off of the Delaware River.

On Jan 7th, please join The Slingluff Gallery and 30+ artists, local and national, from 6-9pm to help raise money for Penn Treaty Park. A percentage of every sale is going to The Friends of Penn Treaty Park to help maintain its clean and fun environment for all to enjoy. In order to continue to keep the park in tip-top shape and improve it, Penn Treaty Park needs continued support through membership contributions and benefit shows like this. As Fairmount Park Commission receives less funds than it has in previous years, Penn Treaty Park’s support will also suffer. The show is also sponsored by Art in the Age, Philadelphia based makers of Root, Snap and Rhuby liquors.

This benefit show runs from January 7 - 29, 2012. Opening night, January 7 is from 6-9pm and continuing with regular gallery hours Thursday - Saturday 12-8pm and Sunday 12-4pm.

Penn Treaty ParkThe Friends of Penn Treaty Park is a community organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the beauty and usefulness of historic Penn Treaty Park. In 2005, we created a grass-roots effort to preserve and promote the park as a positive green space for family and community. The Friends of Penn Treaty Park began by overseeing refurbishments of park monuments, as well as the addition of new benches and playground equipment. "We have been able to cover the cost of the replacement of the Treaty tree and decorative fencing around it. We are working on funding future improvements, including lighting and enhancements to the children’s area."
